The Math Division has several events for Fullerton College students throughout the academic year. All students are welcome regardless of math skill. These events complement Math courses and allow students to engage with higher-level mathematics and gain experience in research, scientific typesetting and presentation skills.

Math Club

Every Tuesday, 6–8:30 p.m., Building 600, Room 616

Come join the Math Club for socializing, study groups, projects, activities, events and more!

Math Colloquium and Seminars

Colloquia include discussions by mathematicians on unsolved problems, updates by students on their research projects, and a supportive atmosphere for those of all backgrounds and abilities.

Math Seminars are designed to introduce students to and engage them in open/unsolved problems in mathematical science, while improving students’ ability to read and write higher-level mathematics proofs.

ANATYC Student Math League

The AMATYC Student Math League is a competition. Round 1 is held during the fall semester and round 2 during the spring semester. Students compete both as individuals and as a member of a team representing their school. Fullerton College encourage all students to participate and take the test, however, only the top 5 in the round become the school’s official team for that round.

Students individually take a one hour 20 question multiple choice exam which contains some nonstandard challenging questions. Students get to test their problem-solving skills and see how they compare to others from around the nation. In order to prepare for the AMATYC, Professor Leonard Cho will be holding practice sessions.

For more information, please contact Leonard Cho at LCho@fullcoll.edu.
