Mathematics Course Sequence

The Mathematics Course Sequence shows the progression of the math courses that students should take to complete their math requirements.  The starting course can vary based upon the placement test, high school transcripts or other college transcripts.  Once students start the sequence, they are expected to take each required course.  Questions regarding placement should be directed to Counselors prior to starting the sequence.

MATH 010 F - Basic Mathematics is the first course in the math sequence at Fullerton College.
The prerequisite for MATH 015 F - Pre-Algebra is MATH 010 F - Basic Mathematics.
The prerequisite for  MATH 020 F - Elementary Algebra is MATH 015 F - Pre-Algebra
MATH 020F is required for BOTH MATH 030 F - Plane Geometry and MATH 040 F - Intermediate Algebra (which may be taken concurrently).
The prerequisite for MATH 100 F - Liberal Arts Mathematics is MATH 040 F.
The prerequisite for MATH 120 F - Introduction to Probability and Statistics is MATH 040 F.
The prerequisite for MATH 129 F - College Algebra for Business Calculus is MATH 040 F.
